REFLECTION

"My heart exults in the Lord, my Saviour" This is the  prayer of our Mother Mary in reply to the praise of her virtues and privileges granted her by God as recounted by Elizabeth. But instead of her praise, Mary returned all the praises to God.

The Magnificent, the song or canticle of praise issued by our Mother Mary has proven to be the best prayers ever given to humanity.

It is a prayer of praise of God, a thanksgiving offering, a prayer of adoration of God's blessings.

Its content is totally oriented towards God's activities and blessings given to man. "for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
And his mercy is on those who fear him
From generation to generation.
He has shown strength with his arm,
He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts,..."

This prayer of praise of God issues from a heart filled with gratitude and appreciation. A heart given to extol and praise. There are no presences, no forced presupposition, no pressure of discomforts but a heart pure and simple, declaring gratitude to God who has done marvels. “My soul magnifies the Lord,
And my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour,"

The Church has a great tradition of prayers of praise and thanksgiving especially with the tradition of recitation of this magnificent every evening during her prayer. The Church also encourages greatly such prayers of thanksgiving and praise with the recitation of the psalms and other canticles of praises, at least 15 of these daily.

Our Masses are called Eucharistia, that is thanksgiving because that is what Christ did on the altar of calvary, praise and thanksgiving to God!!!!

Our lives therefore must be praise and thanksgiving to God. Because praise and thanksgiving is the greatest form of prayer pleasing to God. It is prayer per excellence.
It is the prayer of praise and thanksgiving that many saints and successful apostles used to conquer the world.

Let us therefore praise God truly from hearts filled with gratitude and Hearts of thanksgiving at every moment of our lives. Thanksgiving and praise must be our life, our way of life, our attitude, our devotion and our joy no matter the circumstances, the problems and difficulties of life. Learn to say with grateful heart always, "My heart exults in the Lord, my Saviour."

Indeed Lord, my heart exults in the you, my Saviour for the gift of my life, my health, my family, my friends,. For the gifts of life sustenance, faith in you, joy and happiness that I cannot explain, and protections of life. For the gift of Christ in me, for the material endowment, for friends and well wishers for job and influence. For all these Lord and many more I cannot say, I thank you and declare, Glory Be to You, Father, and to Your Son Jesus Christ and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end Amen. Thank you Jesus.

MEANING AND MESSAGE OF CHRISTMAS

Christmas mean different things to different people.  To some people it is the time of merry making, to others it is the time to buy new clothes, new shoes, new necklace e.t.c.; to some it is time to eat and drink and get drunk, while to some people, it is time to embrace Christ who has come to us in the form of man.  At Christmas many are so busy with material preparations, parties, shopping, gift-giving that they practically forget whose birthday we are about to observe.  There is always more for the one who has eyes to see and ears to hear.  The meaning and message of Christmas is a complex mystery of profound and immense importance.  One can outline them in the following ways: 1. INCARNATION  -        GOD  BECAME  MAN             Over and above all, Christmas has its root and basis in the mystery of God becoming man.  The incarnati...

Leadership is Influence and Great Task to Operate.

Jesus Christ is an exemplary leader. No matter how bad or ugly your past is, Christ is a great leader to follow to your redemption.

JESUS, THE WOUNDED HEALER!

Heb 4:12-16; Ps 19:8, 9, 10, 15 (R. John 6:63c); Mark 2:13-17 Can you try and make a spiritual journey with me for a moment? Assume the position of Levi in Mark 2:13-17. Imagine yourself at the commercial centre of the city making serious money like Levi, and then Jesus comes along to call you. Can you leave all your wealth behind to follow him as Levi did? Apart from that, Levi was considered a public sinner by the same society to which Jesus belonged. Yet Jesus broke protocols to call him. That is an unmerited favour. Imagine yourself, a sinner like Levi, and Jesus broke the protocols and gave himself up on the wood of the cross just to save you. It is also an unmerited favour. How did Levi react to that unmerited favour? He left everything to follow Jesus (Mark 2:14). More than that, he attracted people like him to also follow Jesus (Mark 2:15). We are all beneficiaries of the unmerited favour. St Paul says that it was while we were still sinners that Jesus died f...
